For the first time today, I didn't have a job to go to. It felt funny not going to work. Even though I know that I will be starting my new job soon, I felt like I was without a job. I keep telling myself that this is just a vacation, but I feel guilty not going out and making a living somewhere.
So, what did I do today? Nothing. Well, I caught up with some stuff for Girl Scouts, but basically, nothing. I felt guilty about not doing anything, but at the same time, I felt good about taking some time off.
Later, I got a call from HR that my background check came back O.K. They asked me when I can come in to do paperwork and start, and I told them tomorrow. So, tomorrow morning, I'll be stopping by HR, then report to work. I'm so excited!
Today was the first time I was able to go to one of Corinne's Water Polo games. I packed my camera and was about to head to the game when Corinne called me. They were supposed to leave immediately after school (which they get off at 3:10 p.m.), but it was already 4:00 p.m. and they were supposed to be at the pool at 4:30 p.m. for warm up, and the bus hadn't shown up yet. Since we live right across from our school, I ran over to the school and talked to Corinne for a minute. She suggested that maybe we can take some people over there. I told her that I would stick around until the bus comes to make sure our team doesn't have to forfeit. The coach said at first that we couldn't take anyone in cars because it was against the rules. But by 4:15 p.m. when the bus still didn't show up, he gave in and called the principle, who gave him permission to use cars. So, then those students who had cars took others in their cars, and I ended up taking only Corinne and another girl to the game.
We got to the pool a little after 5 p.m. We were trying to get there as quick as possible, through all of the traffic. I was with a caravan of two other cars, veered off and went down another street, then met up with them on the main street that goes to the pool. Our girls team did a quick warm up, then played a fierce game. I took pictures of the warm up and the game. Our girls won (YEA!!) and then Corinne and I stayed for half of the boys game (in which we found out later they won!).
Later, after we got home, we decided that Goldie needed to move to the new tank. His water PH level was off the chart, and he wasn't looking too good. So, we did the proper thing and put him in a bag and let the bag sit for a good 20 minutes before releasing him in the new tank. At first, he wasn't sure about the new space. He has lots more room in the tank, and was used to a small tank. However, before we went to bed, he seemed very happy in his new home. Mary, our cat, has now realized that we have an actual fish in the tank now. Oh, oh....
I've packed my lunch and picked out my outfit for tomorrow. I feel like I'm going to school on the First day of school. How appropriate, since I'll be working for a school district now. Ha, ha.
Well, got to go to bed now. I can't be tired on my first day of work...
