Since I work for a school district, I get the same time off as the kids. So, I have about two weeks off from work. I really needed the time off because I had been very sick lately, and the time off couldn't have come at a better time.
Aside from doctor's appointments and Corinne working, we spent the time at home. I didn't think I would be so busy with appointments and taking Corinne back and forth to work. This was the time I wish she could drive herself to work. Dec 27 - 30 she is taking a Lifeguard Instructor course, where she is learning to teach Lifeguarding. She wants to be an instructor in the spring when they are needing instructors to teach lifeguarding. With her LGI, she also gets paid more money per hour.
We spent Christmas Day at home. I made a ham, which turned out great! (I know it turned out great because Corinne even said it turned out good. She usually complains about how I make food). We played Monopoly and I won. The family Christmas present to ourselves was the 5th Harry Potter movie, which we watched.
The next day, Corinne didn't have to work, so we went to JoAnn's and bought some fleece. Corinne wanted to make a no sew tie fleece blanket to give to her grandma. I found some remnant fleece for about $3 and decided to make Mary (our cat) a small blanket of her own. Then we went to PetSmart and bought some more fish. Dotty, one of the algae eaters we had, died this week, and the other algae eater seemed depressed. So, Corinne wanted to buy more fish to fill the tank. We ended up buying two goldfish and two algae eaters. We now have Goldie and the other algae eater, Stripers, and our new ones Benji (goldfish), Jr (goldfish), Rod (algae eater like Stripers), and Spotty (algae eater like Dotty).
When we got home, I spread out the remnant fleece on my bed so that I can start to work on it. I told Mary that that was her blanket, so immediately she jumped on it and sat on it while I was still working on it. She didn't even wait for me to finish the blanket. When I finished the blanket, I left it on my bed, and she wouldn't get off of it for anything. I think you can say she really loved her new present.
An update on the Christmas decorations for my patio: Well, I think we have given up. Corinne put up the decorations, then the painters came and needed to move the decorations, so they got moved, and then we tried again to put them back up, then the painters came back, and I think that's when we gave up. So, our patio kind of looked crazy, with decorations half done. Today, I finally took them down. I wish we had half a chance in getting them put up correctly. Corinne had a great idea which would have looked good if the plan would have gone as planned.
Well, that's all for now. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas! :)
I'm glad the ham worked out. I had a cholesterol filled breakfast for Christmas. Hit the spot.
