Last Wednesday, my old car decided to take me to work, but that was it. It wasn't going anywhere else. I knew for awhile that the water pump was going to go out. It finally did. When I approached my car as I was getting ready to go home, I noticed that the radiator fluid was all over the parking lot. I knew instantly that the water pump went out. I popped open the hood, and checked the radiator and overflow and they both did not have any water. My boss had decided to stick around just "in case", and then offered my a ride home. I took his offer and went home.
The only problem was that the car was still at work. Thursday, my co-worker came and picked me up for work, and in the evening I had it towed home, with me riding along. Friday, my co-worker came and got me again for work. We went at lunch to get cat food, and since she needed to go to Sam's, I went with her and got the chili that we needed for car clinic. I was set.
The plan was to go to car clinic on Saturday (with another friend picking me up), and then afterwards we were to get another vehicle that we were already thinking about getting for me. Some of the guys from the car clinic were going to help me by giving me another car because they felt that "Cara" would be too expensive to fix. The car had already been picked out. The only problem that we thought the vehicle would be ready. There were still some clitches, and it wasn't going to happen on Saturday. I was getting frustrated because I didn't want to have depend on people to take me places, and I had things I needed to do.
Sunday, the guys met again, and it was decided that I would get a loaner until the other car is ready. They brought me the car, and it's this huge 1993 Buick Roadmaster. Cara is a Dodge Caravan, and even with it being a van, the Buick beat it by a mile. It's so much longer than Cara! I'm not sure how I'm going to drive that thing. The car that I'm supposed to be getting is another Dodge Caravan, so it won't be too bad on getting used to it. But this thing? Sitting next to Cara, you can tell it's so much longer than Cara.
Well, as long it gets me where I need to go. I just thank God that I have friends that are willing to help me like this. Hopefully, we'll get "Cara Ann" soon. (We decided to name the new van Cara Ann because she has more features than Cara, and it sounds more sophisticated).
